Impact

Houston  •
What this trip demonstrates is the impact that city planning has on cities - from focusing on loud, obnoxious, and overbearing cars to creating a space for people to enjoy themselves. Which I believe has a huge impact on the happiness of the city and the people who live in it. While I'm not a civil...

The Mount Everest of walkable cities

Florence  •
With breathtaking views, this city is like one big museum with you being able to walk from historic site to historic site and plenty of shops and cafes to go to in-between. You couldn't even drive between each site as there's either no road or it's too tight.

Guttentag

Munich  •
That's the kind of day you'll have going here. It's got ornamental public buildings, expansive urban parks, all being mostly pedestrian friendly. What else is there to say? Prost!

Wee-wee

Paris  •
Yeah, it's a tourist city, but that doesn't take away from its' walkability. Aside from being a flex to post about on the internet, you can pretty much walk the entire city, visiting shops, historical sites, or using the public transportation.

Oh my god!

Amsterdam  •
That's what you're going to say when you see how walkable this city is. This city cares more about people than cars, in fact, it's been slowly getting rid of streets, converting them into shops and walking spaces.

Dinnae teach yer Granny tae suck eggs!

Edinburgh  •
Edinburgh is quite a small city, you could stay anywhere and be fine walking the whole city. You can see the many historical sites or enjoy the scenic views.

North America's Best

Vancouver  •
That's right! America is beaten by the guy she tells you not to worry about, the "nice guy" Canada. Finally an actual walkable city! It host's North America's best urban parks, the beautiful Lost Lagoon as well as walkable public markets and scenic views.

A rubber room full of rats

New York  •
Somehow, this is the best we can do in America, and it wasn't even intentional. Still car-centric, but they have side walks on every street and the city is smart enough to not turn every apartment into a parking garage. Congratulations.

The worst of the worst

Houston  •
We start at Houston to see one of the worst cities in the world. It's a loud, car infested wasteland, where they solve problems by adding more lanes to their highways fully knowing that it won't actually solve their problems. This is overall the worst place to be without a car.
